Introduction:
Acne is one of the most common skin conditions, affecting about 80 million Americans. It can be hard to know what products to use, and it's even harder when your acne produces dark spots or blemishes that are difficult to cover up. But there are simple steps you can take every day to keep your skin clear and healthy:
Wash your face morning and evening.
Wash your face morning and evening. This is one of the most important steps in your routine, because it helps keep oil glands healthy and prevents breakouts. Your best bet for a gentle cleanser is an oil-free one that doesn't have any drying agents or fragrances added in—but if you're looking for something more effective at removing dirt, makeup and other impurities from skin (like benzoyl peroxide), don't be afraid to try something like salicylic acid.
Wash with warm water instead of hot; this will help reduce inflammation caused by harsh soaps and make sure all traces of bacteria are washed away before they can cause future breakouts on your face! Use a soft washcloth rather than scrubbing too hard as this can also irritate sensitive areas like around eyes or lips which would otherwise cause them redness/tenderness after use - especially during winter months when temperatures outside are cooler than usual due to weather conditions
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week.
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week. This is essential for getting rid of old skin cells and making way for new ones to grow in. The best way to do this is with a physical exfoliant, like sugar or salt scrub, which can be purchased at any drugstore (or even online). You'll want to apply it in the morning and evening after your cleanser; don't overdo it! If you have active blemishes, try using an acid toner instead of an exfoliant product.
Apply Facial Serum.
Facial serums are concentrated, so you don't need to use a lot of it. You can apply them after cleansing and before moisturizing your skin or use them alone as a serum for acne prone skin type.
Apply moisturizing SPF during the day.
A daily SPF is a must. Apply it to your face, neck and chest before you apply moisturizer. You should also apply it to your hands and arms as well as your ears.
Another important aspect of oily acne prone skin is that it needs more moisture than non-oily skin does. So when you're moisturizing, don't forget about the rest of your body!
Cleanse your face at night.
Wash your face at night to get rid of any dirt and makeup that may have accumulated during the day. If you have oily skin, I recommend using a gentle cleanser like Noxzema or Clearasil 10 in 1 Cleanser because they won't strip your skin of moisture.
To wash your face:
Gently massage the cleanser onto your dry skin with circular motions until it becomes foamy. Don't use too much since this can irritate sensitive skin and make breakouts worse! After washing, pat dry with a towel if possible; otherwise blot lightly with cotton pads until no more product comes out of the pores (which shouldn't take long).
Use a retinoid.
A retinoid is a vitamin A derivative that can help reduce oil production, thereby reducing the amount of sebum in your skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help calm down acne-causing bacteria. However, retinoids can cause redness and peeling as well as dryness so be sure to use them at night when youre sleeping!
We recommend using a prescription cream containing a high concentration of tretinoin (all three forms). The higher concentration means it will last longer than other creams but still be effective over time; most people find they need to continue using these for about four weeks before deciding whether they work for them or not.

It is important to take care of your skin, and the best way to do it is by following a routine. Your routine should include products that are specifically tailored for oily acne prone skin, but if you don't know where or what these products are then we've created this list of some great ones:
