Introduction:
"Gout is a condition wherein declaration of uric destructive primarily in the synovial joints or in the tissues".
Gout is likewise generally known as uric corrosive. It is a complex joint disease in which the patient has severe pain in one or more joints. In addition, the joints become inflamed. It causes severe pain. Also, the joint becomes red. This pain is so much that the patient cannot even bear the weight of wearing a dress at that time.
Types of Gout:
1) PRIMARY GOUT
In primary gout, the body begins to produce more uric acid.2) SECONDARY GOUT
Accumulation of uric acid due to some medicines can cause hyperuricemia.Uric acid itself is not a disease. It is formed by the breakdown of proteins in the human body. Uric acid is excreted through the urine through the kidneys. Sometimes the human body is not able to excrete uric acid properly through the kidneys, or in some conditions, uric acid is too much in the human body. builds up in the body resulting in an increase in the amount of uric acid in the body. The usual dose of uric acid is 250 to 750 mg. But if this amount exceeds 750mg, then it can cause gout.
Apart from this, if there is any recent trauma, it is some kind of accident, etc., then this disease can also occur in this case. Apart from this, there are some diseases due to which this disease can also occur. Like sugar blood pressure etc.
This sickness is more normal in men than in ladies. In women under 50 years of age, this disease is negligible. Because in women, due to the estrogen hormone, very little uric acid is formed.
Damages caused by Gout:
Some people have high levels of uric acid or the uric acid takes the form of needle-like crystals. These crystals accumulate in the joints, which later leads to joint pain and swelling. Gout is simultaneously a joint and kidney disease. It can cause kidney stones. It also causes chronic kidney failure. This can lead to dialysis if it remains in the patient long enough. In pairs, it comes in the form of attacks. That is, the patient starts having severe pain in the joints, which lasts for at least two to three weeks. In the beginning, this pain is quite intense. It is then gradually reduced with the help of medication. Also, a patient suffering from this disease initially has only one or two attacks in a year. If this disease is not treated properly, then it starts coming faster. And there are some patients who may have it three to four times a year. Gout also triggers attacks, and it also causes joint damage in which the joints become crooked and dysfunctional.
Causes of Gout:
The most important cause of gout is the continuous increase in the amount of uric acid in the blood. There are many causes of high uric acid in the blood, some of which we can change through our lifestyle. The most important of these is our diet. A diet is rich in purines. Or those whose destruction produces uric acid. These include large meats such as mutton, and beef, and marine life such as prawns, fish, etc. Apart from this, cold drinks are also one of them. Fast foods in the market that use kidney beans etc. These are some of the things in our diet that increase the level of uric acid in our blood. Apart from this, drinking alcohol also increases uric acid to a considerable extent. Uric acid levels increase significantly in obese individuals. Another reason is that uric acid is not excreted properly from the kidneys. Now and again the illness can run in families.
SYMPTOMS OF GOUT:
After the causes, we now look at the symptoms of Gout.
So, there are four signs and symptoms related to Gout:
1)GOUTY ARTHRITIS
Along with arthritis inflammation and infection in the joint, we get to see the joint cavity in gout. Which causes inflammation and severe pain in the joints.
2)GOUTY TOPHI
In this condition, mainly crystallization deposition of uric acid is seen on wrist joints, fingers, toes and ear lobes.
3)GOUTY NEPHROPATHY
In this condition, a disease condition occurs in the kidney which later causes kidney failure.
4) URIC ACID RENAL CALCULI
If the level of uric acid in our blood is increasing, it will create kidney stones somewhere. There are different forms of kidney stones with calcium oxalate being a common cause. But uric acid crystals are also seen there. Due to this, he can have renal calculi there.
DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION
1) Physical examination
2) History taking3)X-RAY of the affected joint
4) Microscopic study of synovial joint
5) Ultrasound of affected joint
6)ESR level,C.BC.,K.F.T
7)Check URIC ACID level(250-700)
TREATMENT:
The first thing in treatment is:
You will have to give some medicines, one of which will reduce the level of uric acid and also work for acute chronic ko. Apart from this, NSAID (non-steroid anti inflammatory drugs) is given which works for pain relief as well as inflammation and relieves patient symptoms.
